[uncensored-r/Bitcoin] Can BTC wallets be negative? This is a screenshot from WhaleClub
The following post by TheHearthstoneNoob is being replicated because the post has been silently greylisted. The original post can be found(in censored form) at this link: np.reddit.com/ Bitcoin/comments/7k3vwd The original post's content was as follows:
You can go on Coinbase and see the bitcoin transactions on the blockchain. There are significant amount of bitcoin movement that people are doing. Can someone send me a bitcoin? I will screenshot my wallet to show you when someone does! Thanks! /r/Bitcoin
My coinbase wallet app had $2,685 in coin and now its missing.
My coinbase wallet had just received $2,685 in bitcoin, it was not letting me send the coin out I kept receiving an error. So i saved my recovery phrase and deleted the app and signed out and back in using my recovery phrase but now that I am logged back in I do not see my funds in the wallet. I searched my bitcoin address in the blockchain explorer and the transaction for the $2,685 does not show, it is a completely brand new bitcoin address and it is not tied to any old transactions. When i search the old address I see the transaction. I know for sure the recovery phrase was entered correctly because my old coinbase wallet username popped up on the account. I have emailed coinbase about this and have not received a response. Please somebody help me!
I hope my story will help some of you to never repeat my mistake. I just got scammed the way I never even thought is possible ( some of you might heard about this but I never heard until today). Decided to cash some money out thru Coinbase, logged-in and copied BTC wallet address thru built-in Copy function as it shows on the screenshot below. Logged in Binance to sent the BTC to Coinbase and just pasted the address from the buffer without second thought. Pushed the transaction. 1hour later I realized that its different address and only first 4 symbols are same. Somehow my copy-paste buffer changed the address from right one to wrong one. Money lost. No way to recover it. Please dont repeat my mistake do not blindly trust to copy-paste buffer , your computer could be infected with malware that swaps addresses and it will be too late when you realize that. P.S: Since Coinbase not showing whole address and first 4 symbols were the same it was very easy to overlook P.P.S: heres the "wrong address" https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/36cZUcWME52EF33Af8a6JCdm233jgmViXd you can verify with a screenshot that first 4 symbols are same and last 4 hidden. Edit: Please , I`m not trying to say that this is someone else`s fault ( I totally understand that its my fault and take ownership of it) .I shared this experience for educational purposes, so newcomers or someone who never heard of such malware would not repeat same mistake. I`m not getting anything from it, no need to tell me something that I already know. It is my fault I agree and not blaming anything/anyone besides of myself. https://preview.redd.it/qykt68tmaaj51.png?width=373&format=png&auto=webp&s=3489695e1c2e4b1d6a61d615568e20e7580ff97d
The state of cryptocurrency in China. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are lying.
It's been a while since I outlined the state of cryptocurrency in China, but I should probably tell you guys why this is important first: Journalists will do anything to shill you their "news" so they can get their sponsor dollars. Crypto YouTubers who comment on the story without reading the original news story or transpiration of events in Chinese further distort this message. With that out of the way, let's dive in to free knowledge. -Mining is just fine, so long as miners have all of their documents properly registered. The Chinese government thinks, "Whatever, sell this stuff to foreigners. We'll gladly let more USD flow in to our economy in exchange for thin air." -Most Chinese-owned exchanges set up offices abroad, usually in Singapore. Some have dev teams in Malaysia / Taiwan. -The Chinese government hasn't really out-right BANNED crypto ownership as far as I know, but they have certainly made it very difficult to own it. Which leads me to these two points: -I tried sending an APK file for an android phone wallet app to an American buddy of mine and his Chinese-made phone with a specialized Chinese distro of android would not allow him to install it. He sent me a screenshot that showed his phone basically displayed, "Unable to install application." or something similar. -I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Chinese-made distros of Windows, Linux, or Macintosh-specific operating systems do not allow users to install wallets to their desktops either - but I have not verified this. -These last two points can be circumvented by buying phones and operating systems made for foreign countries on China's ebay equivalent, Taobao. -There have been previous court-rulings where bitcoin was recognized as PROPERTY. -My view is that the CCP's attitude is, "Less crypto, less headache. Turn it in to USD and bring it in to China." -I would not be surprised to learn that later down the road the CCP makes a list of present cryptocurrencies that may be bought and sold legally in China in the future. I would only be shocked if bitcoin were not on that list. -It is commonplace for employees of exchanges to get paid in crypto in China. This is usually done with a stablecoin. -I have an undergraduate degree in Chinese and previously worked for a Chinese-owned exchange. This is where my knowledge comes from. -Everything listed here to this point in time should be treated like "law" unless Xi Jinping himself or another government official say otherwise in the near future. Any questions? Fire away.

For 2 years, around 100 people have had access to my mega.nz account without me knowing it
Today i needed a txt file which i knew i had in my mega account, so i went on it and downloaded it. Something immediately started to look sketchy, the file was downloaded as a folder and my browser wouldn't even let me open it because it allegedly had a virus. Not a big deal, i told my antivirus to let the file pass and went ahead to open it. What did i find in the folder? A txt file containing a bitcoin wallet's address and an exe file named PasswordDecoder.exe, probably a ransomware or something. Time to panic. I had documents and password stored there. At this point, having had another account compromised in the past, i understand what's going on and move to the settings section of the site, where i can see the locations of past sessions of my account and this is what i find (didn't screenshot ALL of them but this shold give an idea of how bad the situation was) https://imgur.com/gallery/kWMVYNt my account has probably been part of some sort of dump which is or has been available online, it's the only explanation as to why so many different people had access to it. Past versions of my files had been erased and the bin was empty. I have contacted mega's support and i'll se if they can do something about this, i will edit this post if someone cares.
Steam wallet gift code scams - The steam wallet code you have entered has already been redeemed.
To anyone who has been scammed before when dealing with "buy bitcoin with Steam wallet gift code". 1st of all i joined Paxful a few days ago, and i have been buying bitcoin with Steam wallet gift card. The 1st few trades were a success until 6/10/20 (it turned into a nightmare), i myself fall into the scamming schemes of two Chinese trader with the usernames of GenialGnu983 and Morissa599 which i suspected the both account share the same owner / share a connection with each other. I got into a 50USD Steam wallet gift code deal with each of them and well guess what, their replies are almost identical (scripted). After the 50USD Steam wallet gift codes were sent to them, they immediately upload an image of which shown the code has been redeemed. I then search for post regarding gift card scamming in Paxful. After a few hours of going through all the related post. I noticed a few similar patterns in these gift card scams
In a gift card deals, bitcoin seller has the upperhand in winning the dispute (these bitcoin sellers know they can scam easily by providing ONLY A PICTURE showing the gift card is redeemed whereas bitcoin buyers need shit tons of evidence to prove that they are the true ownership of gift card. (To be honest, i feel that dispute should be fair to both party by requiring the bitcoin seller to record the whole process of the trade especially when they are reloading the gift cards to the account.) As what "Saka" mentioned in the comment section of Paxful Blog > https://paxful.com/blog/perils-of-gift-card-trading/.
From what i have go through of all the post related to gift card scam. China Trader are mostly involved (culprit). *Not trying to be a racist* *They do have a group where they share on the methods on how to win the dispute/scam *
Their replies are scripted. They will 1st upload the screenshot of the gift code which showed that its already been redeemed (the screenshot does not show the whole steam window and its the same picture used by the other scammer). After that with the following reply "My inspection results have been sent to you, please check the gift card. Requesting you to send a new gift card/cancel trade. Lastly they will be open up the dispute.
How I made about $250 in free Bitcoin and other crypto this month
So each month, i do a write up on how much free crypto I have made for free each month and tell you how you can do the same. Brave Browser First off using the Brave browser, this month I have made about $89 in bitcoin, you can see last month, I only made about $10 though i did not use the browser as much as usual. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/JKkt8pK So get the Brave browser and try it out, you can at least make about $50 if you use the internet often. You can convert the BAT tokens you get into any crypto you want, they support about 30 different coins. I still decided to checkout on bitcoin, though i wish I did Chainlink before as the price is skyrocketing. -- ZEN Second free crypto for this month is Horizen You can sign up and they have a facet which gives you free ZEN every day. They recently added new games you can play for more ZEN, I have accumated about $20 in ZEN this month. So check out ZEN coin and get yours for free --- Ledger Wallet Third, I purchased a ledger Nano X wallet, this is a hardware wallet, if you have crypto there is no safer option, I would not use phone apps or store it on your computer. If you are interested I would highly recommend getting it or go with Ledger backup pack wallet. This way you have your main wallet and another hardware wallet as a backup incase you lose your first one. It comes with a free app so you can watch the price of your portfolio going up. --- Dolla ICO Dolla is a new coin that is hitting the exchanges soon, you can sign up and claim about 50,000 worth of free DLA coins. All you have to do is follow their social pages, then they add the DLA to your account. Sign up and claim your free Dolla today Screenshot proof: https://imgur.com/DLqXbL1 -- Lastly i have been trying out some mining ETH, so i guess you could also consider this kind of free getting about $25 eth a week. If you are into crypto and want to get started, do it for free first, you can always convert your coins into one that you want. You can do all of this for free, so get onto it. This is kind of a TIFU post but since it's bitcoin related I'm posting it here. Happened 3 days ago when I decided to buy bitcoin with my savings of this year. I had the money already added to my banking account (Bitwala with integrated wallet) a few days earlier. I created the account and the wallet one year ago. Excited to finally buy some BTC I didn't the check wallet keys etc. After the transaction was finished I wanted to move it to another wallet. In this moment I noticed that I fucked up as the password wasn't accepted for the outgoing transaction. I searched for the documents I hoped to have the seed etc on but apparently they're gone bc I threw them away a couple of weeks ago thinking it's some old wallet - fucked up first there. The only thing I found was a screenshot of the seed words in random order. Now I'm sitting on 0.5ish BTC without access to them. I got out of addiction last year and got a job and this was sort of my financial backup as I wanted to study soon (Europe). It is devastating for me and I can't tell if I''ll get insane or just backslide into addiction bc this is so stupid. I'm grateful for any advice on brute forcing the shit out of this wallet. Edit: thanks guys, you're cheering me up. It's not all about the money. It's accepting that mistake that fucks me up. As I found out I've got either main or backup seed words + reference key so let's see what is possible to get out of that. Wallet is bip39 Bitwala didn't even response after 3 work days

I had transferred some ETC-20 tokens in two transactions to crypto.com app wallet on 6-Sep-20. As expected, within couple of minutes, the minimum required confirmations were received and the transactions were an instant success when tracking on ethexplorer.io and etherscan.io. Although, I did not receive anything in the wallet. After persistently chasing this matter, and giving the transaction #hash for both, I received a reply after 7 hrs to check status.crypto.com which said that that crypto.com have been experiencing some delays. 3 hrs later (10 hrs since transaction), the status was updated to resolved. But neither the tokens reflected in my wallet nor was their any email for deposit confirmation. Next day, I approached through the Telegram group 18 hrs after the transaction and was told that the issue has been escalated which made the person handling the case became more responsive as opposed to the previous day. I also provided them with the proof of transfer and wallet address screenshots. For which I received a reply that the blockchain team is working on it and they are trying their best. I fail to understand what more is there to try when all the information has been provided. I received one of the transactions after 22 hrs (vs maximum 2 mins). Now, it has been 43 hrs and I am still waiting for the other transaction. It isn't bitcoin (slow as) guys! Would like to be enlightened how the process of incoming and outgoing transactions work in crypto.com systems? Which is apparently taking them so long to chase a transaction and allocate funds to the right crypto.com account.
